History

I bought it at an antique furniture store in Santa Cruz, CA for my daughter about 17 years ago

Long Description and Pictures (jpg, gif, png)

This is a beautiful cherry wood twin sleigh bed by Drexel. It is stamped on the back 135 - 1 BED, TRAVIS COURT GROU.. (I can't read the last letter(s) of that word) BY DREXEL . I bought it for my daughter when she was about 17 at an antique store in downtown Santa Cruz. I forget how much I paid for it. Being English, I was unaware of the name DREXEL in antique furniture until recently. My daughter is grown up now with a daughter of her own, but she doesn't want the bed. I haven't got room for it. I am asking how much is it worth? It is well taken care of. How old is it?

Your bed isn't "Antique", the Travis Court line was an original "Drexel" line introduced during the late 1940's. The company became " Drexel Heritage" in 1974. Anything marked "Drexel" predates 1974.

Thanks for your comment. Have you any idea how much it is worth? I thought anything older than 50 years is "antique" in California!! I did buy it in an antique store.
