Please Appraise Oil Painting

I put up an appraisal about 5 hours ago of an oil painting of a ship and no one seems to be helping me figure out the value of it or information about it. I don't no how long I'm supposed to wait. If someone could look at it and tell me about it and tell me how long I'm supposed to wait for an appraisal next time. I'd really appreciate that. Thanks.

i'm having the same problem.  I posted my painting 3 days ago and I never got an appraisal.  Am I doing something wrong?

The ability to complete an appraisal will depend on if someone who knows about your painting views your request.  The Instappraisal community is made up of many different experts in a variety of antique and art disciplines.  This is a community-driven web site and as such you are depending on someone within the community who has expertise on your painting.  Depending on the rarity of your painting it may take some time before someone answers your request.

As an Appraiser of over 30years, to all those posting requests for oil paintings, the reason your are not getting much of a response is because nobody....and I repeat nobody, can appraise an oil painting from a picture. There are just too many varaibles involved that cannot be verified without physically examining such pieces. You really need to have an appraiser physically such pieces.
